MicroSat Systems Selected to Partner on Iridium "NEXT"

Littleton, CO. August 7, 2007- MicroSat Systems is pleased to be selected as a key partner in the beginning phase of the design and development of the Iridium “NEXT” satellite constellation. Iridium is planning to build and launch NEXT as a replenishment constellation for its existing 66 satellite system.
“MicroSat is very proud to have been selected for the opportunity to assist Iridium in identifying and evaluating innovative ideas for NEXT that will provide new applications and continued benefit to commercial and government customers,, said John Roth, President and COO of MicroSat Systems.
MicroSat is one of seven partners working on systems engineering, requirements definition and architecture development for the “NEXT” constellation. MicroSat brings systems engineering expertise, satellite design, manufacturing and integration, and test experience, as well as complete mission design and support to this partnership opportunity.
“MicroSat is excited to be involved in the earliest stages of defining the Iridium NEXT constellation of satellites,” said Todd Mosher, Ph.D., Director of Advanced Systems, MicroSat. “The current Iridium constellation is already a technological achievement to have successfully launched and operated such a large number of satellites while building a strong customer base. To work on the next generation system is a rare opportunity and MicroSat is delighted to be involved at this stage.”
In addition to MicroSat, other teammates selected include: Avaliant, Boeing, General Dynamics, KinetX and Trident Sensors.
